Local man facing charges after raping girl, authorities say

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — A Lowcountry man is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in McClellanville.

William Torrel Mazyck, 24, of Georgetown is charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor following the incident on Friday, October 21.

According to an incident report, the victim told her mother that Mazyck “put his privates inside her body.”

The victim’s mother also told investigators that Mazyck was acting “strangely” even following her daughter.

While being interviewed by authorities, the victim stated that she was babysitting the suspect’s daughter at the time. She said as soon as there was no one at the house, Mazyck told her to me the guest room where he shoved her on the bed, forcing himself on her. As he was doing this, she was telling him “no” multiple times and that it was hurting her, according to an incident report.

Mazyck told her “it will start feeling good soon, don’t worry.” He also told her “you’ll get in trouble if you tell anyone,” the incident report added.

Following the incident, the victim says she tried to tell her mom but Mazyck followed her, not allowing her out of his sight.

She was treated at a local hospital. Mazyck was given a $100,000 bond.
