1 person killed in Murrells Inlet early morning structure fire

MURRELLS INLET, SC (WCBD) – One person has died in an early morning condo fire in Murrells Inlet.

The fire broke out at about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday with multiple departments called to the scene. Entrapment was initially reported.

Murrells Inlet Garden City Fire Chief Norman Knight reported one fatality. No further information has been provided at this time.

Garden City Fire Rescue and Midway Fire Rescue crews are both investigating the fire at the 5100 block of Highway 17.

The fire started at the back of the condo, officials said. Photos show the charred frames that remain in the back of the condo.
