NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD)- A North Charleston resident heard a “pop” sound this morning and went to investigate, finding a fire on the porch of her townhome, according to Deputy Chief of Professional Standards Stephanie Julazadeh.
The fire quickly moved in the walls of the home, affecting the first and second floors.
North Charleston Fire Department units responded to Lucille Drive at 9:39 this morning for a residential structure fire, Julazadeh stated. Units arrived on scene and found smoke coming from the home.
Fire personnel made entry in to the home and extinguished fire found in the first and second floor walls. Red Cross is assisting two adults and one child who were displaced because of the damage.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
