9/11 Heroes Run raises more than $23K for Tri-county Fraternal Order of Police

CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – More than $23,000 has been presented to the Tri-county Fraternal Order of Police.

That money was raised by the annual 9/11 Heroes Run, which was last held in September on Daniel Island.

The money will be used to buy tactical medical kits for officers from more than 20 local law enforcement agencies.

“The medkits contain items that are designed to save officers’ lives, but also to potentially save any citizens life that they encounter on the street during their daily duties, that a lot of agencies don’t necessarily have the financing to equip all of their officers with,” said Kyle Jamison with the 911 Heroes Run.

The 8th annual 9/11 Heroes Run is set for Saturday, September 7th on Daniel Island.
