9th annual 5K Run For Adela

On Sullivan’s Island this morning, 800 runners hitting the sand in the Run For Adela.

The annual 5K run on the beach is in its 9th year. The Lowcountry’s Chief Meteorologist Rob Fowler was at the run this morning.

The 5k is named for Adela Holmes Cook, a Bishop England High School student who passed away in 2009. The run and the foundation in her name has raised hundreds of thousands with proceeds going to a number of local charities and scholarship programs.
