American Airlines flight out of Charleston lands in Montgomery due to “mechanical issue”

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – An American Airlines flight out of Charleston was diverted to Montgomery Regional Airport this morning after a mechanical issue was reported.

Flight 2083 out of Charleston International Airport was originally destined for Dallas, Texas but made the emergency landing in Alabama around 10:00 a.m.

A source with the airline said the aircraft landed safely and is being looked at by a maintenance team.

They hope to have all 104 passengers for 5 crew members on their way as soon as possible.
