MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCBD) – Saturday was a great day for many people in need as free food was handed out in Moncks Corner. But, that was just one of the 28-days’ worth of kindness from several people in the community.
The owners of one deli in Moncks Corner say they have spent the entire month of February practicing random acts of kindness.
The Angel Alliance, which is a group of businesses in the community, is taking the 28 says of February to do 28 random acts of kindness.
On the 2nd day, they gave away food in Charleston. On the 23rd day, which was the last Saturday, they fed some 100 people at Unity Park in Moncks Corner.
The business community there helped by donating toys and other items.
Panera Bread donated bread and pastries, and the town’s mayor and police department joined to help, too.
Velencia Cash, who owns The Deli sandwich shop with her husband, William, is one of the primary organizers of the 28 Days of Random Acts of Kindness.
In addition to the 28 days, she and her husband, on the first Saturday of every month, find a different community in need and go there to distribute food in Moncks Corner.
