A third family is now suing a local daycare, claiming a child was burned while there.
According to suit filed April 25, the mother of a two-year-old claims her child came home from Harvest Time Academy in Goose Creek with a second-degree burn.
The suit alleges on April 19, 2018, while under the care of the staff at Harvest Time Academy, the child “suffered significant personal injuries,” and that parents were not notified.
According to the attorneys at the Cantwell Law Firm and Cobb, Dill, & Hammett, after picking up the child from the facility, the mother noticed a burn on the child’s arm. The mother allegedly took the child to a CareNow Urgent Care Clinic for evaluation, where doctors determined the child had a second-degree burn.
Attorneys claims the staff failed to take the measures to minimize the risk of injuries to the child; failed to prevent the injuries; failed to adequately supervise and monitor the child; and failed to treat the injury.
