BCSO: Woman admitted to trying to kill her disabled adult son

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCBD) – Authorities are investigating after a woman reportedly admitted to trying to kill her disabled adult son.

According to Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office PIO, Carli Drayton, deputies responded to Caromi Fire Department on Wednesday in reference to a woman who confessed that she attempted to killer son.

Michele Baker Hayes, 65, admitted to trying to kill him several times, Drayton said.

Deputies and medical services responded to the residence at 1375B College Park Road in Ladson where they made contact with the victim.

We’re told the victim was transported to an area hospital by EMS and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit in stable condition.

Hayes was arrested and charged with attempted murder and transported to the Hill-Finklea Detention Center.
