BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Officials in Berkeley County on Tuesday announced a newly-launched emergency notification system.
According to Hannah Moldenhauer, the county’s public information officer, the reverse 911 system will alert citizens when there is a potential risk of danger or emergency.
Moldenhauer said this new system will keep residents and travelers informed on potentially hazardous situations involving weather, crime, and other emergencies.
If you would like to receive notifications, citizens can register at https://berkeleycounty.onthealert.com/
This system is used to alert individuals and businesses to the risk of danger by sending a recorded voice message or text message to registered cellphones within a defined geographical area.
