BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The South Carolina Department of Transportation has hired a contractor and new beams have been delivered to repair the overpass at College Park Road.
On April 11th, an over-height truck hit the overpassing, causing damage to the steel beams and concrete deck.
Beginning next Friday, the DOT will shut that overpass down and portions of the interstate so that they can make necessary repairs at that site.
The repairs will likely cost more than a million dollars. Crews hope to have the work completed by Memorial Day Weekend.
