Deputies arrest fugitive wanted in Michigan on his birthday

MONCKS CORNER, SC – The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest for a fugitive out of Michigan who has been wanted since July of 2012.

Tuesday, members of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office along with the United States Marshals Service Task Force were able to located and arrest 29-year-old Muhammed Baldeh.

Baldeh was arrested on warrants issued that accused Baldeh of Forcible Sexual Assault and Sodomy of a Child Under the Age of 10-years-old. The exact details of the assault will not be published in order to protect the victim and the integrity of the pending case.

After Berkeley County Deputies received tips that Baldeh was in the Moncks Corner area of Berkeley County, Law Enforcement Officers were able to substantiate that Baldeh was living and working in the area.

Baldeh was arrested without incident. He was booked into the Hill-Finklea Detention Center, on his birthday.

Baldeh will await extradition back to Michigan.
