MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – (WCBD) The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects involved in an armed robbery and an attempted armed robbery, from a Dollar General store.

Assistant Public Information Officer Carli Drayton stated that on January 20, Berkeley County deputies responded to the Dollar General, located in the 4700 block of N Highway 52 in St. Stephen, for a report of an armed robbery.

The suspects were described as two black males, one younger and one older, Drayton added. The suspects entered the store and presented a firearm in an attempt to rob the store. Authorities stated that it was estimated that $1400 was taken that night.

On February 2, Berkeley County deputies responded to the same Dollar General in reference to an armed robbery. Workers on scene told investigators they heard the front glass of the store break and then watched two suspects walk through the door.

Once the suspects were inside they looked behind the counter and throughout the store. Both suspects then left the store without taking any items, according to the news release.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information concerning these cases to please contact them at (843) 719-4412 or Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111.
