BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – On Wednesday, before 9 p.m., deputies observed a male walking on Wilhite Drive towards College Park Road carrying only a bookbag.

Authorities stated that approximately 30 minutes later, 30-year-old Ronald Lee Bowers II was observed walking on College Park Road walking a bike that had been spray painted blue. This captured the attention of Deputies because the tires were spray painted blue as well. Deputies added that this tactic is typically seen with stolen bicycles.

Deputies stopped to talk to Bowers in reference to the bicycle at which time Bowers became overly nervous while talking with Deputies.

Upon conducting a pat-down of Bowers, a Meth pipe was identified in his pocket.

Through the continued investigation approximately .5gg of field-tested presumptive methamphetamine was located on Bowers and a 9mm semi-auto pistol was in his bookbag.

Bowers was transported to the Hill-Finklea Detention Center and charged with Possession of Meth and Unlawful Carry of a Firearm.
