Deputies: Suspect in Berkeley County road rage shooting is in custody

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD)  – Authorities in Berkeley County say a suspect has been charged in the fatal road rage shooting that happened on Highway 52.

Deputies say Karrington Holmes, who was booked at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center on unrelated charges, was identified as the suspect in the April 30th road rage shooting.

What began as an incident of aggressive driving between the driver of a red semi-tractor and a silver or gray sedan ended with shots fired near the intersection of Central Avenue in Goose Creek.

Rodney Middleton, 49, was later pronounced dead as a result of the shooting.

Holmes is now being charged with his murder.
