Goose Creek PD searching for suspect who stole case of cigarettes

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities in Goose Creek are asking for the public’s help in locating an individual who stole more than $3,000 in cigarettes from Walmart on St. James Avenue.

According to Lt. Tom Hill with the Goose Creek Police Department, the suspect entered the Walmart Supercenter sometime between 2:22 a.m. and 2:36 a.m. and proceeded to the cigarette register.

After pacing back and forth and checking his surroundings, Lt. Hill said the suspect was seen on surveillance video walking behind the tobacco register counter and proceeded to stuff a large number of cigarette cartons into a green plastic storage container he found nearby.

The suspect then fled from the store with the case of stolen cigarettes, which we are told totaled more than $3,500.
