HANAHAN, S.C. (WCBD) – A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday for the Railroad Avenue Extension in Hanahan.
The project will extend Railroad Avenue from Mabeline Road to Eagle Landing Boulevard.
Once the project is complete, drivers can get from North Charleston to Hanahan without taking Rivers Avenue.
Hanahan Mayor Christie Rainwater said that public safety is the public goal of the project.
