Man charged with trafficking meth in Berkeley County

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The arrest happened Thursday evening, around 8 p.m. when a deputy observed a suspicious person sitting in a parked car on Treeland Drive, officials stated.

Neville Winston Singleton was found with 26.9 grams of crystal methamphetamine and had $2,871 cash in his vehicle, according to officials.

When the deputy walked up to the vehicle that’s when Singleton got out of the car and began to walk away. Smoke was seen coming from the vehicle, with a strong odor of marijuana, authorities added.

Singleton admitted he was smoking and that there was marijuana in the door.

The deputy then searched vehicle and found methamphetamine and large amounts of cash.

Singleton was charged with trafficking meth.
