More than 4,000 Berkeley Electric customers without power

UPDATE 4:50 PM: A representative with Berkeley Electric said they were able to backfeed part of the system and restore power to some members.

However, they are still working to test a transformer at the substation before they can finish restoring power to the all customers.

Pimlico and surrounding areas remain without power.


BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) Over 4,000 Berkeley Electric customers are without power Friday afternoon.

According to the utility company, system control is reporting an outage affecting the Strawberry area near Moncks Corner.

They say more than 4,000 people are currently without power.

The cause is currently unknown, but crews are working to restore power.
