Officials: No injuries reported after fire at Moncks Corner church

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) – According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, emergency crews are responded to a structure fire on West End Drive in Moncks Corner.

We’re told lightning could be what caused a fire to break out at a church in Moncks Corner. The Nazareth Reformed Episcopal Church on West End Drive sustained damage including the collapse of the church’s steeple as you can see from the images here.

Three agencies including firefighters from the Moncks Corner Rural and Whitesville Departments responded after the fire was reported at around 5:45 p.m. last night.

Berkeley County Fire officials say no injuries were reported and the official cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
