Suspect arrested following fatal hit and run incident in Berkeley County

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol have located the vehicle from a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian crash in Berkeley County on US-17A near Jamestown on May 23rd.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Matt Southern stated that the driver, Mario Alberto Tinajero-Baeza, 34, of St. Stephen, S.C. has been charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death.  

Tinajero-Baeza is currently being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center where he awaits a bond hearing, which is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 26th.
