MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCBD) – It’s another round of closings for BI-LO stores across the southeast.

According to an announcement Thursday from Southeast Grocers, the chain said they have made the “difficult decision to close” the BI-LO store located at 1909 US Highway 17 North in Mount Pleasant.

“We realize this closure of an underperforming store in your community can be challenging. We do not take these decisions lightly, and only make this tough choice after careful consideration of its impact on our associates and our customers has been made,” said Joe Caldwell.

He said associates will be treated with the dignity, respect and compassion they deserve. As such, he said they were the first to know about the decision to close that location.

In the coming days, the store will announce details about special mark-down discounts on remaining merchandise.

The store is expected to close on – or before – March 25th. The company is also closing 10 other stores across South Carolina.
