Boeing plans to fight lawsuit filed by Southwest pilots

Local News

Boeing plans to fight a lawsuit filed by Southwest Airlines Pilots Association.

According to the complaint, pilots lost more than $100 million dollars in compensation due to the grounding of the 737 Max jets.

The complaint alleges Boeing ‘deliberately’ misled pilots about the safety of the aircraft.

Spokesperson Libba Holland was able to provide the following statement:

Boeing has the greatest respect for the men and women who fly for Southwest Airlines. We are aware that their pilot union, SWAPA, has filed a lawsuit against Boeing related to the 737 MAX suspension of operations. We believe this lawsuit is meritless and will vigorously defend against it. We will continue to work with Southwest Airlines and its pilots on efforts to safely return the MAX to service.
