Boeing to hire more employees in preparation for Dreamliner production increase

Local News

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Boeing will be hiring additional employees in production areas to ensure that they are properly staffed for their Dreamliner production line in North Charleston, according to spokesperson Libba Holland.

Spokesperson Libba Holland stated that they are preparing to increase the 787 production rate in 2019 to 14 airplanes per month. With the beginning of the process of transitioning to that rate by preparing the factory and working with our suppliers, the rate increase will not take effect until 2019.

This does not mean that the North Charleston campus will produce 14 planes per month, but the 14 rate will be in partnership with the 787 site in Everett, Washington, Holland added.
