Bond set for man accused of attacking Wal-mart employee

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – On August 30, officers with the North Charleston Police Department were dispatched to the Walmart on Center Pointe Drive in reference to an aggravated assault, according to the incident report.

Officers met up with the victim who stated that he was working and was approached by three males. He stated that he was walking to the back of the store when he was approached by a male wearing khaki pants in the diaper aisle.

The incident report states that the man pulled a revolver out of his pocket and then put it back inside. The suspect began punching him and the victim fought back.

The suspect pulled the gun out of his pocket and the victim was able to wrestle it away, the report added. The victim struck the suspect several times in the head with the revolver, authorities stated.

The suspect took off and came back inside and left again, according to the incident report. He was bleeding from the head and had his tank top wrapped around his head. The other two males left ahead of him.

Authorities recovered the revolver and a cell phone that fell from the suspect during the altercation.

A call went out at Trident Center Point ER in reference to a male with a head wound and the officers were able to identify the three males from the Walmart, according to the incident report.

Deshaud Ali Gourdine, 25, of Georgetown was charged with Aggravated Assault.

Bone was set at $160,000 for Gourdine.
