CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A deputy with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office was involved in an early morning crash in North Charleston on Thursday.
The collision happened just after 7:00 a.m. on North Rhett Avenue near Wright Avenue.
Authorities say a 2009 Toyota Camry was traveling east on N. Rhett Avenue when it was sideswiped by an unknown vehicle.
The Toyota crossed the median and struck the Dodge Charger, which was driven by a Charleston County deputy, head-on.
Both the driver of the Toyota and the deputy were taken to the Medical University of South Carolina with non-life-threatening injuries.
