MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Tuesday marks 74 years since the attack of the USS Laffey.
Veterans of that ship will gather for a ceremony aboard the ship which now sits at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant.
They will remember the 32 sailors who were lost in the three-hour attack by 22 Japanese kamikaze planes during World War II.
The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. and is included with admission.
Members of the Tin Can Sailors and USS Laffey Associations will have free admission to the Patriots Point museum.
