Charleston Animal Society honors firefighters who rescued puppy

Local News

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – We first told you about the North Charleston firefighter who rescued a puppy from being stuck in some rocks last month.

After the firefighter rescued the puppy, he adopted it!

The Charleston Animal Society on Tuesday held their board of directors meeting and honored the whole squad for the rescue.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the men and women of the North Charleston Fire Department. This crew personifies our values,” said fire chief Gregory Bulanow. “They found this animal in distress, did whatever they needed to do rescue it, and then for Capt. Brian to take it home and keep the animal—it’s just an amazing story.”

The North Charleston firefighter who took home his new puppy named it “Rocky.” Fitting as it was rescued from being stuck in rocks.
