Charleston Black Lives Matter activist Muhiyidin Moye possible victim of attempted armed robbery

NEW ORLEANS (WCBD) – Authorities investigating the murder of Charleston Black Lives Matter activist Muhiydin Moye believe he may have been a victim of an attempted armed robbery.

The shooting incident happened on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at about 1:24 a.m., in the 1900 block of Bienville Street, according to New Orleans Police.

Authorities responded to 1900 block of Bienville Street following a call of “an aggravated battery by shooting.”

We’re told when they arrived, they found an adult male, later identified as Muhiyidin Moye, lying on the ground. He was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the right thigh.

Medics transported the 32-year-old to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

“NOPD Homicide detectives gathered additional information and believe Moye may have been the victim of an attempted armed robbery,” authorities said.

Detectives are seeking to speak with anyone who might have information about this incident.
