Charleston County Library invites public to ‘Star Wars Reads Day’

CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – Star Wars fans, you are invited to a special event happening this weekend at the Charleston County Library!

Stormtroopers, Tusken Raiders and R2D2 will invade the library’s Main Branch (68 Calhoun Street)​​​​​​​ for an afternoon of Star Wars-related fun for the entire family.

Bring a camera! Residents will be able to have their photo taken with characters from the Star Wars Universe.

According to a press release, members of the Carolina Garrison chapter of the 501st Legion, a volunteer international Star Wars costuming organization, will be dressed in lifelike gear.

Fans can also compete in a Jedi training obstacle course, enjoy target practice on Storm Troopers, visit the Jakku Junkyard, and take a break from the excitement with Yoda Soda and Wookiee Cookiees in the Teen Lounge.

A screening of “Solo: A Star Wars Story” will begin at 2 p.m.
