CCSD seeking public input on proposed school re-zoning maps

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston County School District is seeking community input on two proposed school re-zoning maps.

This is for Lucy Beckham High School which will open with 9th and 10th-grade classes for the 2020-2021 school year.

The first proposal would include neighborhoods zoned to attend Belle Hall Elementary, James B. Edwards Elementary, Mount Pleasant Academy and neighborhoods zoned to attend Whitesides Elementary that are south of the Isle of Palms Connector and west of the intercostal waterway.

The second proposal would include neighborhoods zoned to attend Belle Hall Elementary, James B Edwards Elementary, Mount Pleasant Academy but also include residences on Sullivan’s Island and all Mount Pleasant neighborhoods zoned for Whitesides Elementary that are south of Venning Road, but not including the geographic area that is east to Rifle Range Road and north of Venning Road.
