CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) on Monday responded to a fatal car wreck in McClellanville shortly before 7:00 p.m.
CCSO says that the driver of a car “ran off the roadway into a pond” on Pinckney Street near Lofton Court.
One person was found dead in the car.
The Charleston County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday identified the victim as Jerry Von Dohlen (71) of Hanahan.
According to the coroner, he died “from a probable natural event,” which led to the accident.
