CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Charleston Promise Neighborhood launched a hands-on learning program that includes mystery solving, rocketry and live animals.
CPN arranged for engineers from the Savannah River site to come to the area to lead a series of science projects with students in elementary schools.
“Everybody learns differently so having a way for kids to get it in writing, hearing it, seeing it and getting to do those things. They get a completely different learning experience than sitting in the classroom,” says Ericka Parker, an instructional coach with the program.
All of the projects are science based and will teach students different STEM programs.
