Coroner identifies victim following fatal shooting in West Ashley over the weekend

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston Police Department responded to a West Ashley shopping complex located in the 1600 block of Sam Rittenberg Boulevard in reference to a shooting on November 24th at approximately 9:45 p.m.

Joshua Porcher, a 32 year-old-male died as a result of a gunshot wound, according to Charleston County Deputy Coroner Michelle Gonzalez.  He was pronounced deceased in a parking lot at Sam Rittenberg on November 24th at 10:02 p.m, Coroner Michelle Gonzalez added.  

Upon arrival, officers on scene observed a 32-year-old male lying next to a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the incident report.

Officials on scene evaluated the victim and pronounced him deceased on scene, the report added.

Charleston Police Department is the investigating agency.
