CSX to close railroad crossings for repair work beginning Sunday

CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – CSX on Tuesday announced several railroad crossings in Charleston will be closed for repair work beginning Sunday.

Southern Commercial Development, who works with CSX Transportation, said signage will be in place to mark detour routes when the repair work begins.

They say each crossing will be closed for 2-to-5 days.

Locations include:

  • Huguenin Street (Between Morrison Dr and Romney St) – Closing on/around 3/31
  • Meeting Street (Near Cunnington Ave) – Closing on/around 3/31
  • Kings Street Ext. (Discher St and Meeting St) – Closing on/around 4/7
  • Summerville Ave (Close to Austin Ave) – Closing on/around 4/9
  • Azalea Drive (Between Baker Hospital Blvd and Kings Street Ext) – Closing on/around 4/9
  • Misroon Street (Near Appleton Ave) – Closing on/around 4/9
  • Accabee Street (Near Appleton Ave) – Closing on/around 4/10
  • Dorchester Road (Between Meeting St and Kent Ave) – Closing on/around 4/10

Circumstances such as weather and speed of track teams will heavily dictate time frames for the repair work.
