NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Thousands across the Lowcountry woke up Wednesday morning without power.
The Dominion Energy outage map showed more than 8,000 people were in the dark around 6:00 a.m., with much of the outages affecting residents in North Charleston.
According to Paul Fischer, a spokesperson for Dominion Energy said crews who responded to the outage in North Charleston determined the cause to be an equipment failure on a line along Rivers Avenue.
Fischer said power was restored to all customers about 40 minutes later.
Crews will remain in the area as they make final repairs.
