CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – summer can be a stressful time for students who rely on daily school meals.
About half of the Charleston County School District’s students qualify for free or reduced priced school meals during the school year.
So, to relieve that stress, CCSD’s Seamless Summer Feeding Program is working to fill the nutrition gap when school is out.
For nine weeks, the district’s nutrition department will provide free breakfast and lunch to approved sites in Charleston County.
The program will run from June 10th to August 9th. Meals will be readily available for pick-up throughout the county.
