Mt. Pleasant officer rescued baby deer trapped between two rocks

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – A Mount Pleasant police officer is being praised for saving a deer fawn near Memorial Waterfront Park.

According to the department’s Facebook page, Officer Lawson was notified by a concerned citizen about the deer which appeared to be stuck in the rocks at the park.

High tide was coming in and there was no sign of the mother around.

As Officer Lawson approached the deer, he found its leg was stuck between two rocks.

After freeing the animal, he took it to the emergency vet to be checked out.
