New policy in place for dogs on the Isle of Palms

Charleston County News

ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCBD) New rules are in place for dogs on the Isle of Palms.

The Public Safety Committee recommended that the city adopts the state law requirement that all dogs on the island have a tag issued by a licensed veterinarian, showing the dog has been vaccinated against rabies.

The committee also wants the city to eliminate the requirement and fee for Isle of Palms residents to register their dogs with the police department for a city-issued dog permit.

Now, that dog permit would be a voluntary process.
