NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) is investigating a shooting that left one person injured Monday afternoon.
Officers were dispatched to Gordon Street shortly after 4:00 p.m. after receiving reports of a disturbance and shots heard in the area.
Once at the scene, officers located a victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the left hand. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
According to a report from NCPD, officers received a second call for service on Busch Avenue for a person who was running through the area and complaining of breathing problems.
Police say that the individual was “highly uncooperative” with officers and EMS, according to the report.
It’s unclear if, or how, the two calls are related. No other information was provided.
An investigation is underway.
