CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The St. Andrews Fire Department and Charleston Fire Department on Wednesday night responded to a fire on the 700 block of St. Andrews Boulevard.

According to St. Andrews Fire, the call came in shortly before 6:20 p.m. and crews were on scene within four minutes.

Upon arrival, crews “found a working fire in a rear workshop in the home.”

Three occupants of the home evacuated on their own and no injuries were reported.

The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes. Roads were temporarily closed in the area as crews deployed water lines.

Heat and smoke damage spread to the entire home. The cause of the fire is still unknown and is under investigation by the St. Andrews Fire Marshal.
