Several road resurfacing projects taking place across Mount Pleasant

Charleston County News

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Several road resurfacing projects will take place in the Town of Mount Pleasant beginning Wednesday through the end of the month.

Charleston County Government will oversee the project as crews work to put down asphalt that will improve the surface on several streets.

Crews will work during the day at all locations with the exception of Hungry Neck Boulevard.

The application is a thin, cold-applied asphalt overlay that will improve the surface traction and aesthetic appeal of your street while it preserves the existing asphalt.

Resurfacing locations include:

•           Home Farm Road

•           Charlotte G Circle

•           Marsh Court Lane

•           Long Oak Drive

•           Oak Park Drive

•           Lillie and Rebecca Lane

•           Old Marsh Parkway

•           McAdams Court

•           Hungry Neck Boulevard (night-time)

Traffic will be restricted to one lane during paving operations with one lane remaining open for travel. Cul-de-sacs and streets less than 18’ wide will be closed to ensure the fastest and safest installation, so alternative parking should be utilized.

The new pavement needs to cure for approximately 3 hours before it can be opened for traffic. If you must cross over an unopened section of roadway, please wait at least one hour after it has been paved.
