Wanted burglary suspect surrenders to police on Johns Island

JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCBD) – A wanted burglary suspect has surrendered to police after a brief stand-off on Johns Island.

According to Charles Francis with the Charleston Police Department, authorities were attempting to serve a warrant when the burglary suspect ran from police Wednesday afternoon.

Francis said that suspect help up inside a residence on Prosperity Road for about an hour before surrendering to police.

A Count on 2 crew at the scene said one person was transported to an ambulance after coming out of the home.
