Wells Fargo bank robbery suspect surrenders to police

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The suspect in this afternoon’s Broad Street bank robbery surrendered to police about two hours after the incident.

Officers were searching the area for the suspect when a call was made to consolidated dispatch about him wanting to surrender to police.

Andrew Boaden McKissack, 53, is charged with armed robbery. He is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center. 

Police respond to the Wells Fargo Bank at 16 Broad Street about 3:00 p.m. in reference to it being robbed. 

The suspect handed a note to a teller demanding money. He left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash.

The investigation is ongoing.
