Charleston PD: Fatal stabbing following home invasion in Downtown Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston Police Department was dispatched to a burglary in progress at 68 Amherst Street on August 14, at approximately 6 a.m., according to Sergeant Patrick McLaughlin.

The resident advised that the individual, who did not live at this location, forced his way inside the apartment and an altercation occurred, McLaughlin added. During the altercation, the resident stabbed the individual with a knife. 

The 38 year old male, did not survive his injury and Detectives are actively investigating the incident at this time, McLaughlin stated. No arrests were made based on the facts known at this time.
