Children and families joining the South Carolina Historical Society for a free event learning about Eliza Lucas Pinckney and her story of growing and profiting from Indigo.
Pinckney’s experiments made her one of the first famous agriculturalists in the country.
Children were able to do hands-on activities like planting their own indigo and dying t-shirts.
Pinckney is the first woman to be inducted into the South Carolina Business Hall of Fame.
