CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) – As Hurricane Michael makes its way to South Carolina, the City of Charleston will open downtown parking garages for residents to keep their vehicles safe from flooding.

Beginning at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, the Aquarium parking garage located at 24 Calhoun Street and the Visitor Center parking garage at 63 Mary Street will be open for citizens to park their cars for free during the storm.

Officials say all cars must be removed by 8:00 a.m. Friday.
