Mount Pleasant, S.C. (WCBD)- One Lowcountry Superintendent wants to hear from you! Happening today, you can sit down with Charleston County Superintendent Dr. Gerrita Postlewait for coffee.
This is part of a series that started last year to give parents and community members an opprotunity to interact with her, provide input, and get to know her a little bit better.
The meetings happen monthly in a different location in the Charleston county school district. As the Superintendent, we’re told Postlewait is committed to making sure the district is serving all the students, schools, and communities— She says one way to serve is to have interaction and input.
Andy Pruitt, the Director of Communication and Technology for CCSD says Charleston County is the second largest school district in the state and Postlewait wants everyone to have an opportunity to share their concerns. He says it’s important for her to know who she serves, “This is public education and public input regarding public education is key. It’s important that she gets to know our parents and community members at a deeper level as best as she can so this two way stream of communication helps us craft and be aware of concerns people might have”.
Coffee starts at 7:30 at Metto Coffee and Tea in Mount Pleasant. If you’d like to reserve a spot, click here.
