Deputies: 5 months of pro-active patrolling results for Colleton County

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office initiated a plan in January to provide updates on pro-active patrolling.

All the information provided in the monthly updates is from pro-active stops conducted by law enforcement, according to officials. 

The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post stated that these are stops they initiated on their own due to traffic infractions possibly leading to other charges.

Authorities have maintained daily records of the information over the course of a month, then tallied up the numbers on illegal contraband that was seized including illegal possession of weapons. 

Within the past month, deputies have seized: 

  • 200 grams of marijuana
  • 38 grams of methamphetamine’s
  • 4 grams of crack cocaine
  • 16 ecstasy pills
  • 3 scheduled narcotics
  • .36 grams of heroin
  • 7 illegal weapons

The current street value of narcotics seized by the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office is valued at $7,297.00.

These deputies continuously come into work wanting to know what they could improve on to be better than they were yesterday, taking initiative to learn is the first step to success not only in the workplace but in life.” Said Sheriff R.A. Strickland.

160 grams of methamphetamine 
649 grams of marijuana
125 grams of ephedrine
80 ecstasy pills
88 scheduled narcotics
6 grams of cocaine
2.06 grams of heroin
4.09 grams of crack cocaine
1 vial of pcp
26 illegal weapons
