National Action Network to discuss RaNiya Wright death investigation

Colleton County News

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCBD) – The investigation continues into the death of a 10-year-old days after a fight in her fifth-grade classroom.

Officials say RaNiya Wright died from a pre-existing brain condition and not the results of a fight as first thought.

Her mother, Ashley Wright, rejected that and said her daughter was a victim of bullying.

On Tuesday, the Colleton County chapter of the National Action Network plans to discuss Wright’s death during a news conference set for 6:00 p.m.

The conference will take place at the Colleton County courthouse.
